Into Light -
A poem of the plight of our newborn put to the knife in circumcision

Thrust out into light and the knife rent us two.
So little and helpless, unable to plea,
Our life giving blood,
It poured forth -
It did bleed.
For what were we guilty to warrant such strife
That we newborn infants are put to the knife.
In moms darkened womb knit to life we did gain,
Then into light are we ravaged by pain.
Of this mutilation we are scarred throughout life -
That we little babies were put to the knife.
In that generation it was "the right thing to do" -
But life has now taught us we must make things anew.
Away with the knife.
Away with the pain.
For the little ones sake,
We must shout out - acclaim,
Out of this darkness we must now take the lead,
Thrust forth sharing the light by which we are newly conceived.
We must shatter this darkness, dispel this gloom pain,
We must now play our part for our little ones gain.
