Your First Day
By Sigismond

"Patience and length of time do more than force and rage"
(a French proverb)
- - - - -

Go all the more gentle on your first day,
Young age smiles and sparkles in starting May,
Love, love against the knives and the dismay.

Blind devotees crave for tearing away
Your silky defenceless skin, you may
Go all the more gentle on your first day.

Frail infant the first grin far, how lay
Your velvet sex could have danced in the bay,
Love, love against the knives and the dismay.

Fierce religions attempt to cage the day
But find birds in slavery cannot be gay.
Go all the more gentle on your first day.

Senseless and desperate believers may
Avenge on you, for their faith make you pay.
Love, love against the knives and the dismay.

And you sister, reading this blue prayer,
Smile and bless me in your glittering way,
Go all the more gentle on our last day,
Love, love against the knives and the dismay.
